- 1 banana, peeled and very ripe and soft
- ¼ C almond butter
- ¼ C unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 2 t agave nectar
- 3 T raw cacao or high quality cocoa powder
Serve this fondue as is or add some variety with any one of these optional additions:
- ½ t cinnamon
- ½ t orange extract
- ½ t salt
- ½ vanilla bean (open pod and scrape the seeds into the mix) or ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 t Grand Marnier
- 1 C fresh strawberries, washed, stemmed and cut in half
- 2 ripe kiwi fruit, peeled and cut into chunks or thick rounds
- 1 mango, peeled and cubed
- 1 C fresh cherries ~ watch out for the pits!
Place banana, almond butter, almond milk, agave and cocoa into blender and blend well until the mixture forms a smooth cream. Add any of the optional additions if you wish and lightly blend or stir in well.
Scrape the fondue into an attractive serving dish.
Arrange the fruit in four to six bowls with accompanying toothpicks or fondue forks for dipping fruit and serve.
Yield: about 1 cup of fondue
Notes:
Can use any seasonal fruit combinations ~ try peaches, ripe pears or even fresh figs for an exotic delight!
